The Los Angeles police has proceeded to question Michael Jackson‘s personal doctor regarding the events that happened as they continue attempts to unravel exactly why the legendary pop music icon has died abruptly.
Dr. Conrad Murray, a Texas cardiologist, was reportedly with Jackson when he subsequently went into cardiac arrest. Media speculation has given rise to the notion that Jackson was injected with Demerol, a narcotic pain reliever, prior to going into cardiac arrest. Murray then tried to resuscitate Jackson and stabilize his condition. He also rode with the singer to the hospital when the paramedics came, where Jackson was pronounced dead.
It is still not clear whether or not Jackson was indeed injected with the substance, or if Murray was the one who administered it if ever.
The LAPD is conceding that they consider Murray to be a witness, rather than a suspect, in the Jackson case. “Dr. Murray is considered to be a witness to the events surrounding Michael Jackson’s death and he is not a suspect,” said Stradley, Chernoff and Alford, a Houston law firm, in a prior statement.
The Jackson family has requested to have Michael’s body undergo a second, private autopsy.
