Five-time NBA MVP Michael Jordan will present his former Chicago Bulls teammate Scottie Pippen at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame induction to be held on Friday in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Each inductee is to be introduced by a current Hall of Famer, so it is just fitting that Pippen’s longtime running mate, who was inducted last year, will do the honors.
In a statement issued by Pippen posted on the Bull’s website, he said, “I can’t think of a better person to do it. Michael is someone I shared my career with, accomplishing most of what I have accomplished so thus far. He was a great teammate, teacher and admirer. I’m excited to have an opportunity to be the first person that he has presented into the Hall of Fame. I figure if anyone deserves to be on the stage with me, it’s him.”
Pippen and Jordan snatched six NBA titles when they were both playing with the Bulls in the 90s. Both belong to NBA’s list of 50 greatest players.
