Mike Leach, Texas Tech coach, suspended for player abuse

Texas Tech. University football coach Mike Leach was put on indefinite suspension, following complaints about abuse and maltreatment from one of his players’ parents.

According to reports, Leach ordered Red Raiders player Adam James to stand in an dark electric closet on two separate practice sessions, following a concussion he incurred on December 16.

Leach decided that James was unfit to continue practice after he suffered the concussion, and sent him to stand in the electric closet without a place to sit or lean. The following practice, Leach still did not clear James for practice and sent him to the same room.

James’ parents are saying that Leach’s actions are “not consistent with common sense rules for safety and healthy.”

While Leach himself has not released an explanation for his actions, his attorney simply says that Leach did what he did because the electric room was cooler and darker than the locker room.

Authorities are continuing investigation about the case.
