Seventeen-year-old Miley Cyrus has had her behavior criticized before. She canceled her Twitter account due to hate mails regarding her tweet supporting gay marriage and had, on record, apologized twice for disappointing photos leaked from her email and for the photos in Vanity Fair.
Lately, Miley isn’t apologizing for the risqué costumes and the way she now conducts herself onstage. An editor said that this image seems to be working. Her father Billy Ray Cyrus was quoted, “It’s what girls her age do.”
Nowadays very visible again are two 80’s teen singing idols: Tiffany and Deborah Gibson. They are currently promoting their upcoming flick “Mega Python vs. Gatoroid”.
Asked on their reaction regarding Miley, Tiffany said that Miley is undergoing the transition “appropriately”. Deborah Gibson reacted “a little too much too soon”.
Gibson sailed through her career from singing to theatrical plays smoothly albeit with the expected mellowing of success. Tiffany wasn’t able to enjoy such smooth sailing starting with the fight her former manager had with her parents and the changing of the public’s musical taste plus contracts with unstable and sometimes shady music labels.
Tiffany and Deborah Gibson are again active in music.
