Naya Rivera is the latest original “Glee” cast member to be named as among those that will graduate from the show.
Rivera, who plays cheerleader Santana, will leave the show with Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, and Cory Monteith, who all play senior students on the comedy musical series.
She told E!, “It’s like, what is it when you’re in high school? You’re a senior, you graduate. Yes, I’m graduating this year…[‘Glee’] is like our baby and we’ve been with it since the beginning and it’s always sad,” she said. “It’s literally like the feeling of being in high school. It’s bittersweet, but it happens. That’s what you do. I’ve had a great run and hopefully it continues.”
Ryan Murphy, the show’s co-creator, hinted that there is a possibility of a spinoff for the graduating senior cast, but Rivera doesn’t know if her character will go on to pursue college. She said, “Hopefully she gets into some type of college, but I think she’s going to be a hot mess in college.”
