Kenny Guinn, a former governor of Nevada and ex-chairman of the Republican Governors Association, died on Thursday after falling from the roof of his Las Vegas home.
The 73-year-old politician was rushed by the police to the University Medical Center after they received a call about a man injured in a fall at around 11 in the morning.
A spokesman for the Guinn family named Billi Vassiliadis said Guinn was on the roof because he was doing some repairs.
Mike Murphy, the Clark Country coroner, said that he and his team are still investigating the cause of Guinn’s death and they are going to do an autopsy tomorrow.
Guinn was first elected as Nevada governor in 1998 and was reelected in 2002. He is survived by his wife, Dema, and two sons, Steve and Jeff.
