The National Football League (NFL) is scheduled to hold a supplemental draft for eight more former college football players hoping to land positions in NFL teams.
Hopefuls for this year are Blake Boyd (LB, Western Kentucky), Jeremy Jarmon (DE, Kentucky), Torris McGee (WR, Southern Mississippi), Dixon McKinner (DE, Texas Tech), Joe McMahon (G, Central Michigan), Demetrice Morley (S, Tennessee), Deon Murphy (WR, Kansas State), and Corey Surrency (WR, Florida State).
Unlike the traditional draft pickings, the NFL supplemental draft is silent, and is processed only through emails sent by NFL team managers. Team managers of each team will send an email to the NFL office containing the names of all players considered for the silent draft, and indicating whether or not the team will draft each player, and if so, what round. If a team decides to draft a player, they forfeit their 2010 supplemental draft pick privilege.
If two teams decide to draft a player on the same round, the NFL will use the main 2009 draft order to determine who gets the call.
