Almost a year ago Glamour Magazine published a photo of a pretty, untouched photograph of a normal-looking woman wearing only a thong with all her stretch marks and flabby tummy showing.
That photograph made Lizzie Miller one of the few lucky in-demand plus-size models.
Standing at 5’11”, being a size 12 Lizzie Miller is one of those who paved the way for more plus-size models working for brands like Chanel and even have magazines dedicate an entire issue to full-figured women.
Having obesity run in her family they signed her up with Weight Watchers at 12. At 13, she was already a model for Wilhelima Agency.
But the other side of encouraging plus-size models should not undermine eating healthy. These models don’t binge, they don’t gorge. They eat responsibly, healthily and are comfortable with the normal shape they end up with. Plus-size models still have a well-proportioned body (coupled with the usual model requirements of clear skin and good bone structure) though their bust, waist and hip areas are larger than regular models’.
Among the most notable plus-size models include: Emme (Melissa) Aronson, Barbara Brickner, Charlotte Coyle, Johanna Dray, Natalie Laughlin, Pollyanna McIntosh, Crystal Renn, Jordan Tesfay, Whitney Thompson and Natalie Wakeling.
