Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao won the WBO title match against Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto with a TKO on the 12th round, at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Pacquiao, widely recognized as the crowd favorite, managed to secure another win against fighter Cotto after fight referee Kenny Bayless stopped the fight at the 12th due to Cotto’s worsening eye injury.
Cotto’s right eye started showing evident puffing in the 6th round, having borne Pacquiao’s signature left punches all throughout the fight. Cotto’s eye injury worsened all throughout the fight, with obvious cuts and bleeding sometime around the 10th round.
Cotto managed to score more points than Pacquiao over the early rounds, but Pacquiao managed to turn that around during the third and fourth rounds, when he managed to down Cotto one time each.
Pacquiao dominated the fight both with speed and strength, and also with fight scores.
