The first teaser trailer for the sequel of the surprise horror blockbuster “Paranormal Activity” has debuted online on Wednesday.

The original film was made with a budget of only $15,000 and is now close to earning $200 million worldwide. It was like a Cinderella story for director Oren Peli and the cast and crew.

It was first announced that Kevin Greutert will direct the sequel because Peli was tasked to work on a new horror flick called “Area 51.” But Greutert has contractual obligations to direct the latest “Saw” film called “Saw VII 3-D,” so he was replaced by Tod “Kip” Williams.

It is still not sure whether the sequel will feature the same cast. Actress Katie Featherston said, “I don’t know. I’m waiting to hear. If they had a way to put me in there in a way that would be reasonable and make sense – I don’t know how they’d do that – I’d definitely be down for it. If I get that phone call, I will be there. I will be scared or happy or whatever they want me to be.”

However, actor Micah Sloat appeared to know more. He said, “I know a lot I can’t tell you. All I can tell you is I’m very excited for the project, it’s really cool, it’s gonna be really interesting and it’s not gonna suck, which most horror sequels … would. This is gonna be good.”
