Authorities grounded an airplane towing banners that taunted Tiger Woods about his sex scandals while he was playing on this year’s Masters Golf Tournament.
The plane, a single-engine Cessna aircraft based from Ohio, was reportedly flying for a company called Air America Aerial Ads. The plane made two flights over the Masters tournament venue yesterday, during the tournament’s opening day, low enough for the banners to be read from the ground.
The banners read, “Tiger: Did you mean bootyism?”
Did Tiger Woods really sleep with his neighbor’s 22-year-old daughter?
According to a statement by Kathleen Bergen, a spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration, local authorities decided to stop the plane from making any other flights until it underwent some minor repairs. Bergen says that the FAA reached this decision after an interview with the plane’s pilot.
The plane was permitted to fly back to Ohio for the said repairs.
