Pope knocked down during Christmas Mass (VIDEO)

Pope Benedict XVI was knocked to the ground during the processional at the Christmas Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica, after a seemingly deranged woman jumped the barricades and shoved the pope.

The woman also managed to knock down a cardinal, who was taken to the hospital shortly after.

The pope was unhurt during the fall, however, according to a statement by Rev. Ciro Benedittini, a Vatican spokesman.

The woman, who is unidentified at this time, was taken into custody by Vatican authorities.
