Randy Savage, aka Macho Man, died in a car accident in Florida on Friday. He was 58.

According to the Highway Patrol, the pro wrestler appeared to have lost control of his vehicle while driving near his home in Seminole at around 9 in the morning. His 2009 Jeep Wrangler slammed head on into a tree.

Savage, whose real name was Randy Mario Poffo, was rushed to Largo Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Officials said the accident was not because of drunk driving. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

The WWE posted a statement on its website on Friday: “WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of one of the greatest superstars of his time. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends.”
