TV personality Ricki Lake has been sued for burning down a house in California last year.
Hovsep Kousouyan, owner of the Malibu home that burnt down, accused the former talk show host of being the fire starter. He filed a lawsuit last week in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, saying, “[Lake] caused the oil to spill which was ignited by the hot heating coils which [Lake] had not allowed to cool. The flaming oil quickly caught hold and began to burn items inside the property. [Lake] failed or did not attempt to extinguish the fire.”
The house was rented by Lake and it had “burned to the ground” in September of last year and caused a heavy traffic jam on the Pacific Coast Highway.
