Former Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova recently showcased a dress that lights up when the wearer’s mobile phone rings.
The knee-length, short-sleeved white dress was designed by Georgie Davies, 20, a British fashion student. He says that the concept was borne out of a need to know when your mobile phone rings even in the noisiest of places. The dress will communicate with a mobile phone through wireless Bluetooth technology. Embellishments lining the dress from one shoulder down to the hip are made of white scales that move and light up.
“When you’re in a pub or a bar, you can never, ever hear your phone,” Davies told Reuters on Wednesday.
Sharapova presented the dress from the window of a luxury store in London.
