Simon Cowell and billionaire businessman Sir Philip Green are reputedly planning to create a new company together.
Cowell is widely known as a reality TV mogul, appearing in American Idol, The X Factor, and Britain’s Got Talent. Meanwhile, Green is best known for being the brains behind fashionable retail brands such as Dorothy Perkins, Topshop, Burton, Miss Selfridge, and Topman.
Cowell’s publicist says to BBC, “They’ve been good friends for a long time and there’s a good chance they’ll be working together.”
Details are still unclear but most likely the new company would involve Cowell’s TV production company Syco. Reportedly the venture would combine Cowell’s interest in entertainment and Green’s flair for business and finance.
Daily Telegraph reports that the business will be located at London and Los Angeles, combining television production and talent management.
A source close to Green adds, “This is going to be a multi-billion dollar international business. This isn’t some hobby venture on the side.”
