A significantly strong earthquake hit the Philippines Thursday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake logged in at about 6.1-magnitude, with its epicenter within the vicinity of the Philippines’ Mindoro region. The U.S. Geological Survey reports that the earthquake was centered approximately 72 kilometers (45 miles) deep in the earth’s crust, about 139 kilometers (86 miles) from the Manila, the nation’s capital.
No immediate reports of any damage or injuries were noted, according to local news sources.
