Super Bowl 2010 New Orleans Saints vs Indianapolis Colts: By now, most everyone already knows what transpired in what is arguably considered to be one of the most anticipated nights of the year. The Super Bowl 2010 finishes with a spectacular final quarter, hailing the New Orleans Saints as the new Super Bowl champion.

Hosted in the Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida, the Super Bowl finished yesterday with a major victory for the New Orleans Saints with a staggering score of 31-17 against the Indianapolis Colts. The Super Bowl XLIV MVP award was also given to Drew Brees, much to the dismay of Peyton Manning and the rest of the Colts.

Not only is this the Saints first Super Bowl win, it’s also their first Super Bowl appearance ever since the New Orleans Saints joined the NFL in 1967. “We just believed in ourselves and we knew that we had an entire city and maybe an entire country behind us,” shared Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees. “I tried to imagine what this moment would be like for a long time and it’s better than expected.”

A play-by-play account of the Super Bowl scores by quarter follows: the first quarter opened with Colt Stover shoving in a 38 yard field goal at 5:53 left, followed by a touchdown by Colt Garcon after completing a 19-yard pass from Colt Manning. Stover successfully kicks afterwards.

During the second quarter, the Saints started pushing back, shoving in two field goals, both by Saint Hartley over a Colt shutout. Hartley shot 46-yard and 44-yard field goals at 6:02 and 0:35 respectively. Halftime scores in at 10-6 Colts advantage.

The Saints kept the pressure going, pumping in a touchdown by Thomas over a 16-yard pass from Brees, along with 47-yard field goal by Hartley. Colt Addai managed to sneak in a touchdown of their own, however, on a four-yard run follow-up from a ten-play possession totaling 76 yards.

Completing the game were the Saints in the fourth quarter, capping the match with two touchdowns, again over a Colts shutout. Shockey completed a pass for a touchdown at 4:57. Porter managed to land another one, returning for 74 yards from an interception. Hartley kicks successfully, sealing the game at 31-17 Saints.
