In an arguably unexpected turn of events, the Opera Mini browser for the iPhone has been approved for availability at the iTunes App Store. The cost? Virtually nil. Check out the demo video here.
A majority of online reviews for the Opera Mini all point to one thing – it’s definitely a faster, easier and more efficient means of browsing the mobile web than the iPhone’s native Safari browser. Most any webpage that you load on it pretty much renders in a flash, with a lot of subtle optimizations built in that seem to contribute to this. For example, gadget blog Engadget points out that the Opera Mini browser doesn’t fully render some of the images on a page until you’ve stopped scrolling to actually be able to view them.
Savvy for a savvy new browser for your iPhone? Hit up the Opera Mini’s iTunes link to download. If you’re wanting more convincing, be sure to check out the demo video below.
