Senate Democrats have come together to support a major health care legislation, the biggest in 40 years, providing the necessary fodder for US president Barack Obama’s domestic policy goal to extend medical care coverage to about 31 million Americans.
A health care bill, on its way to becoming the biggest change in U.S. health care coverage in 40 years, managed to get the go-ahead from the U.S. Senate with just enough votes to proceed.
The House of Representatives managed to clear a health care bill to the Senate last Saturday, with only a narrow margin of 220-215 votes.
