Due to the emergence of social media, Microsoft launches its new Kin smartphones. The Kin smartphone lets you download photos while its home screen is fed by up-to-the-minute updates from social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter. The Kin smartphone comes in two variants, the Kin One and the Kin Two. Both phones will be distributed by Verizon in the United States and by Vodafone internationally.

Online social networking heavyweight Facebook has, yet again, been tagged with criminal charges, this time for violating two registered patents from two separate companies. According to the charges against Facebook, the site is in violation of patents for providing “personal pages” and for tracking the relationships between people.
Facebook, in a move that mimics rival MySpace’s ongoing feature, will now offer its users the choice of acquiring a unique username to attach to their profiles.
