13-year-old American Jordan Romero became the youngest person to reach the peak of Mount Everest on Saturday.

Jordan “Mom, I’m calling you from the top of the world.”

Drake watched his son’s progress by a GPS tracker online. She said, “There were lots of tears and ‘I love you! I love you! I just told him to get his butt back home.”

Jordan has one more peak left to climb in his quest to reach the highest peaks on all seven continents. He was nine years old when he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa.

Before Jordan, it was Temba Tsheri of Nepal who held the record for the youngest climber to scale Mount Everest. Tsheri was 16 that time.
