Three-year-old boy killed after falling from roller coaster

A three-year-old boy fell to his death on Saturday, after he slipped under the safety bar of a children’s roller coaster and fell to the ground.

According to reports, the victim, Jayson Dansby of Dolton, Illinois, was seated with his twin brother near the front of the “Python Pit” at the “Go Bananas,” a theme park located 15 miles northwest of Chicago, when the accident happened at around 7 p.m.

Sgt. Louis Orlando of the Norridge Police Department said, “He may have gotten scared and tried to climb out (of the coaster).” The boy suffered severe head injuries from the fall which led to his death.

Jim Hayes, general manager of the amusement park, said, “We are very sorry about the incident that occurred and we are cooperating with the investigation that is underway.”

Authorities immediately ordered to close the ride. They said the park could reopen it the next day once a thorough inspection has been completed.
