Tiger Woods has announced Tuesday that he will be returning to professional golf at the Masters Tournament to be held on April, after he took a leave from the sport late last year.
“After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I’m ready to start my season at Augusta,” Tiger Woods said in a statement. “The major championships have always been a special focus in my career and, as a professional, I think Augusta is where I need to be, even though it’s been a while since I last played.”
Tiger dropped out from professional golf last year when a car accident led to events that exposed that he had been cheating on his wife, Elin Nordegren. Tiger issued a public apology for the event, and said that he had subjected himself to rehabilitation.
