Toddler Saves Father’s Life by Walking Two Blocks

Three-year-old Alesaundra Tafoya surely knows how to remember what her parents teach her.

When her father collapsed in their living room the toddler went to one of the places her parents had been telling her to go to ask for help that would be safe in their Northern California community.  So, the toddler walked two blocks to Fire Station 243 where she made it as far as the parking lot behind the fire department.  Members of an Alcoholics Anonymous support group next door saw the confused toddler and helped her make it to the fire station.

Though surprised and in wonder of the sight of the little girl telling them her father was “frozen” and needs help the Manteca Fire Department was led by the little girl to her house and saw her father, sitting in the living room, needing medical help.

Frank Tafoya, little Alesaundra’s father, says that he “took a mixture of medication I wasn’t supposed to at the time, a bedtime dose, and I guess I collapsed.”
