Toyota Motors Corp. is suspending sales of the Lexus GX 460 2010 model after a “Don’t Buy” warning was issued by Consumer Reports because of some handling issues concerning the SUV.
Mark Templin, vice president and general manager of Lexus, said, “We are taking the situation with the GX 460 very seriously and are determined to identify and correct the issue Consumer Reports identified.”
The Japanese automobile maker’s decision to temporarily halt selling the SUV is due to the tainted reputation of Toyota in terms of safety. Millions of trucks and cars had been recalled because their gas pedals retracted too slow or got stuck under the floor mats.
