Ardi Rizal, a two-year-old boy from Indonesia, smokes 40 cigarettes a day.
According to his father Mohammad Rizal, he allowed his son to smoke when he was only 18 months old.
Mohammad added that they could not make their son quit smoking because he is already addicted to it and that “he cries and throws tantrums when we don’t let him smoke.” The mom also said that if Ardi doesn’t get cigarettes, he “gets angry and screams and batters his head against the wall.”
According to statistics, about 3% of Indonesian kids between the ages of 5 and 9 are active smokers.
