Mike Tyson and a photographer were arrested after getting into a fight at the Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday. The brawl happened close to a United Airlines counter in Terminal 7.
The former heavyweight boxing champion told the police that the photographer’s aggressiveness provoked him, which resulted to Tyson giving him a punch and grabbing his camera. His representative said he was with his 10-month old daughter at that time, and everything that he did was self-defense.
LAX Police Sergeant Jim Holcomb said the photographer told the authorities that he went down after the ex-boxer hit him.
Sgt. Holcomb further added, “There’s a lot of different versions to the story. That’s all going to come out later. But in this particular case, both parties are going to be pressing charges for battery. Tyson is being held in a cell at LAX.”
The photographer, whose identity was withheld, had a ‘minor laceration to the forehead.’
