Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010 – The closing day for this year’s Winter Olympics will also be one of the more anticipated days because of another reason: the gold medal championship match between rival team USA and Canada for the Men’s Ice Hockey Olympic event!
The USA vs Canada championship game is scheduled to start at approximately 3:15pm EST (that’s 12:15pm PST), and a lot of people are already excited! Team USA is coming in undefeated, having beaten Finland at the semifinals with a virtually unscathed 6-1, while Team Canada will be skating into that rink having only one loss (vs USA), after overpowering Slovakia at the semis 3-2. Tonight’s championship game effectively becomes the hottest and most anticipated vengeance rematches, and is arguably a more than suitable ending for this year’s Winter Olympics.
Team USA managed to beat Team Canada 5-3 back in the round robin matches, and with their excellent goalie Ryan Miller at the net, they have a real chance of walking off with the gold. Team Canada may just be recovering from past lackluster wins, but they, too, are packing a real chance of winning the gold. Whoever wins the gold medal tonight will secure a medal record for their respective countries as well.
