I think it will take away from the "value" of the iPhone.When it was first release everyone went crazy because of the "exclustivity" of having one.Im working on my degree in Economics and this decision is very uncharectiristc of them.This situation is like buying a wal-mart shirt vs a name brand shirt, if a consumer is given the choice of the two, they will more than likely pick the name brand shirt because it is percived as having more value.In the longrun In my opinion it could hurt Apple, If the iPhone loses its percived value it will basically be considered like the girl who will date anybody(lol).My apoligies if I got off topic.
