Viking linebacker E.J. Henderson suffered a broken leg during the last 6:17 of the Cardinals match last Sunday, and will require surgery.
E.J. will most likely have to opt out of this season.
E.J. broke his left fibula when he collided with teammate Jamarca Sanford during a tackle attempt against Tim Hightower. E.J. then tumbled to the ground, and did not move until a cart was able to transport him out of the field and into the stadium clinic. His brother, also injured Erin Henderson, rode with E.J. in the cart.
E.J. is scheduled to undergo surgery on Monday.
The Vikings lost the game against the Cardinals, 30-17.
