Will WePad give iPad a run for its money?

What has  two USB adapters, a webcam, a faster processor and a larger screen than the iPad? WePad!

Neofonie, a German IT firm, created this new and versatile gadget, which is scheduled to be released in July this year.

The WePad has better software programs and operating systems and is more adaptable and all-around than Apple’s iPad, Britain’s Daily Mail reported.

According to www.wepad.mobi, WePad’s official website, the device can run two major operating systems, Linux and Android, making it more flexible. Here’s a list of some of its features:

  • 11.6-inch, 1366×768 display
  • 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor
  • 16/32GB storage
  • 1.3MP webcam
  • 2x USB slots
  • a card reader
  • SIM card slot
  • 6-hour battery life
  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
  • Wifi 802.11a/b/g/n
  • GPS in the 3G model

A 16GB WePad will cost 449 € and a 32GB WePad (with GPS) will cost 569 €.
