Winter Olympics 2010 Schedule: Olympics Opening Ceremony live from Vancouver

Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010 – The Winter Olympics will be holding its opening ceremonies today at Vancouver, despite previous concerns that Olympic ceremonies may be affected by warm weather the past few days.

The opening ceremonies for the Winter Olympics 2010 will be held at around 9:00 p.m. ET at BC Place, Vancouver, in British Columbia, Canada. The traditional Olympic torch will be used to light the Olympic cauldron in what is arguably the most anticipated event currently.

Estimates put the number of visitors to the opening ceremonies at around 55,000 people. For those of you who aren’t able to visit personally, the opening ceremonies will be made available live via NBC in the U.S., and CTV in Canada. Various streaming video sources will be made available in the internet.

The opening ceremonies will be presided tonight by Governor General Michaelle Jean, prior to the individual ski jumping event, the first scheduled competition for this year’s Winter Olympics.
