A scoring drought during the second half of the game did not stop Wofford College to defeat Appalachian St, 56-51, Monday night and earn its first ever NCAA berth.

Wofford College, popular in the sports community as the home of the Carolina Panthers’ training camp, snatched its 13^th straight win despite being scoreless for almost 10 minutes during the game.

Tim Johnson grabbed 13 rebounds for the Terriers, who are now at 26-8.

The Appalachian State Mountaineers dropped to 22-12, with Andrew Williamson and Ryann Abraham scoring 12 and 11 points, respectively. The team’s top scorers, Kellen Brand and Donald Sims, made a combined 2 out of 23 field goals.

Forward Noah Dahlman of Wofford College, who contributed 10 points and 8 rebounds, was given the tournament MVP award.
